Striking Extravaganza Ends with Kru Jose Villarisco
A familiar face graced the mats of Crazy 88 again this weekend. Kru Jose Villarisco stopped by for a two-day Muay Thai workshop. Not only was Jose a National Muay Thai Champion but he was also the head Muay Thai Coach at the Lloyd Irvin World Headquarters for 8 years. He has trained with the likes of Rob Kaman, Master Toddy, and many more. This was the finale of a busy weekend of standup training: Crazy 88 hosted both Jose Villarisco and Boxing legend Calvin Grove.
Jose has been working with the Crazy 88 students for many years now and each session seems to get better and better. Because of the camaraderie of the team, Jose has a connection with the students at Crazy 88. He holds nothing back and pours his knowledge and information into every session. Making sure everyone gets at least 1% better!
This weekend Jose got to work extensively with the Muay Thai and MMA competition teams. Jose decided to run the team through a pretty tough practice on both days. He covered the details of how to get the most power out of kicks and punches as well as maintaining a good technical stance at all times.
Jose also did a brutal Thai Pads session with Coach Jon, Coach Jason and Coach Aung La. This came at an opportune time considering both Coach Jon and Coach Aung la have Professional Mixed Martial Arts fights in October! Some of the Muay Thai competition team also got some work in to prepare for their smoker bouts in mid September.
At Crazy 88 we are constantly pushing the envelope and evolving as coaches and competitors. Bringing in the instruction from outside sources is done not only for the development for the competition teams but for new systems and styles to spread throughout the school and its curriculum’s so that everyone from kids to casual adult students will greatly benefit.
