IBF Champion Calvin Grove visits Crazy 88
Crazy 88 continues to bring in highly decorated athletes and coaches from all areas of combat to further the knowledge of the students and fighters at the academy. With the growth of the professional fight team and competition squads at Crazy 88 we have decided to bring in multiple streams of specialized instruction. This past weekend “stand up” was the focus.
Boxing champion Calvin Grove stopped by on Saturday to work with Crazy 88′s striking team.
Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Featherweight Champion Calvin Grove made his way to Elkridge, Maryland on Saturday morning to work boxing with a selected group of students from Crazy 88. In this advanced boxing practice Coach Grove covered in detail different patterns of footwork, the concept of the jab, and many more aspects of the sweet science.
After a fairly “light” technical session Coach Grove began to make his way around the room working with every student individually for about to minutes straight. During these sessions he ran every student through one long round of working combo’s on the focus mitts.
This was a great opportunity for the stand up students at Crazy 88 to be able to work with a boxer of Coach Groves’ caliber. It will be exciting to see the improved stand up of the competition team as the get ready for the fights in mid September and October.
