Battle at the Beach 2012 Competition Results! Day 2
This past weekend the Crazy 88 kids competition team went to the annual Battle at the Beach in Wildwood, New Jersey. The crew consisted of both veterans and first time competitors. First up was veteran, Seth Fillers who managed to win third in the gi having two hard fought matches. In his first tournament Angelo Levon managed to take second place in his gi division. Angelo fought a hard match and listened very well to the coaches impressing all with his level-headedness. Next up was Tristen Larsen who was making his competition debut. Tristen came out guns blazing as he outpointed his all his opponents to land a spot in the finals of the nogi and gi division. Although Tristen took second he was able to find his mistakes and learn how to fix them.
Next up fighting in the Intermediate kids division was Blake … Blake had one match in nogi against an opponent who was over 10 pounds heavier, but Blake pulled through with an Americana from mount. Also with one match in the gi division Blake submitted his opponent. Special mention to Max Bruno who competed in the expert kids divisions and managed to have 2 hard fought matches gaining much experience in the process.
Blake Hunter won Double Gold in the Intermediate divisions.
